The Nashville Chamber of Commerce is structured in the same manner as other Chambers. There are leadership roles within the organization, as well as a President who is in charge of the organization as a whole. The Nashville Chamber of Commerce collects dues from the myriad of member businesses in order to fund the many activities of the Chamber.
Membership dues to the Nashville Chamber of Commerce helps to pay for the materials which are distributed to members. Any time there is a point of law which may affect the businesses, such as an increase in taxes or the ability to continue selling a certain type of item, members are made aware through materials which are distributed to each member.
In addition to educational materials, the Nashville Chamber of Commerce will help to assist members in handling legal issues that may arise. For example, if a member business is having legal troubles, the Nashville Chamber of Commerce will help that business to obtain legal services and may even provide a lawyer for that business.
The Nashville Chamber of Commerce also helps to lobby against legislation which could have a negative impact on local businesses. For example, added taxes and fees for certain items, such as concert tickets, may have a negative impact on concert venues. In response, the Nashville Chamber of Commerce may lobby against those changes.
